Chelsea captain John Terry buys classic Ferrari

Chelsea captain John Terry has spent a rumoured £1.5 million on a 275 GTB Ferrari - in light blue of course.

Chelsea Football Club captain John Terry has joined the ranks of classic Ferrari owners with the addition of a 275 GTB to his stable of fast cars.

Terry bought the car for a rumoured £1.5 million, which looks like a bargain - Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans is selling a similar car with an estimated price of £2.6 million.

The 1964 Ferrari has a 3.3-litre V12 engine producing 300bhp, so is more than quick enough to keep Terry amused. It is also finished in metallic blue - the only choice for the long-time Chelsea player.

Terry has a long track record of buying exotic cars and has enjoyed owning a Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupe, Overfinch-tuned Range Rover and Bentley Continental GT. He also has previous experience of Ferraris, having owned hard-top and Spider versions of the 458.

However, the 275 GTB is the most Terry is reckoned to have spent on a single car and it could prove a shrewd investment for the Chelsea and England player as prices for classic Ferraris head ever upwards.
